1. Contact us with your gear data or pdf drawings. Sample drawing.
2. Purchase 3d gear tooth software. Sample IGES file.
3. Cut spiral bevel gears on 3,4-axis CNC milling machines. Example of 3-axis cutting.
We supply software and 3-dimensional IGES models ( sample 1, sample 2, sample 3, sample 4) of spiral bevel and other gears. Our customers use 3d models to program 3.4,5-axis CNC machines to cut spiral bevel gears (sample 1_1, sample 3_1)
While the new method has been already used in 1986 at MIL Helicopter in Moscow, and later at General Motors and then at Volvo, the first public presentation took place in Japan in 2002. (Stepan V. Lunin "New Method of Gear Geometry Calculation," The JSME International Conference on Motion and Power Transmissions, Fukuoka, Japan, November 15-17, 2001). Then method have been published in a book (V.I. Goldfarb, S.V. Lunin, E.S. Trubchev. “Direct Digital Simulations for Gears” Volume 1, Izhevsk 2004, ISBN 5-7526-0196-7) and in engineering magazines (Stepan V. Lunin, “Direct Digital Simulation Modeling” Gear Solutions magazine, May 2004, pages 32-38)
This animation demonstrates one of the many options to cut spiral bevel gears on CNC machines. The green ring represents a fly cutter. Our software calculates the positions of the vector, the axis of the spindle. The motion of the cutter is identical to the motion of Gleason cutter. But, 7-axis Gleason machine is not required. A common 5-axis CNC universal milling machine can be used.

In 2003, in Chicago, Prof. Goldfarb and Dr. Lunin continued publications of the new method ( Goldfarb, Lunin, Trubachev. “Advanced computer modeling technique in gear engineering” 2003 ASME Design Engineering Technical Conferences. September 2-6, 2003, Chicago, Illinois). The presentation in Chicago contained numerous CAD models and computer simulations including simulations of spiral bevel gear cutting. In 2004 Prof. Goldfarb, Dr. Trubachev, and Dr. Lunin continued advertisement of the digital methods in gear design and gear manufacturing. (Goldfarb, Lunin, Trubachev. “Novel computer modeling technique in gear engineering” 2004 IFTMM Congress, China, Beijing, April 2004).
More information about 3-dimensional modeling and CAD theory of gears is available in this book: "Direct Digital Simulation for Gears".
