Historically, spiral bevel gears have been produced on gear generating machines.
High manufacturing cost and limited availability was the biggest disadvantage of the old method also known as Gleason face milling or Klingelnberg face hobbing.
Our 3d models are also used for stress calculations. Finite Element Method (FEM, FEA) becomes more accurate with accurate 3d tooth models.
